Ever since Ari Lennox came out with her new single "Pressure" on Friday, I've had it on replay. However, we're going to talk about a different type of pressure compared to the one Ari is talking about in her song. For today's mental health Monday the theme is "apply pressure."

According to the Urban Dictionary to apply pressure means, "To overcome obstacles and excel with finesse at any given task due to an individual’s brute will power." In other words, it means to achieve what you're passionate about by any means necessary.

The definition also states that sleep will be lost, you will have less free time and potentially lose friendships when you apply pressure. But we are focusing solely on the first part of the definition and removing the second part because we don't want those type of vibes over here 🙅🏾‍♀️

As we finish the last quarter of 2021 and prepare to enter 2022, I want us to think about how we'll apply pressure in our lives.

Reflection

In what areas of your life could you apply more pressure? (work, school, business, lifestyle habits, etc)

Journal Prompt: Pressure

What goals do you want to accomplish within the last quarter of the year?

Write down a goal or goals and make a create a plan to achieve it or them before the end of the year. These goals does not have to be big. Think of a goal that is attainable within the next three months.

Thank you for this reminder to apply more pressure in every area of my life. The road to success isn't easy but it's gonna be worth it.
