My name is Tori Carter. I am a Junior Dance major, Afro-American Studies minor from Dallas, Texas studying at Howard University. I credit a lot of my training to Dallas Black Dance Academy and Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy. I am trained in Ballet, Pointe, Moderm, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, African, and more. I wanted to work with Révolutionnaire because it’s mission is important to myself and the many different communities within our global dance community. Visibility of the hidden hardships that come with dance, accessibility to the proper attire that we feel comfortable in and that is made with our differences in mind, and community to share and grow together is vital and the Révolutionnaire Shop is a great way to realize these goals for every dancer of every shade. I believe trailblazers are empowered or influenced by the people that come before them.I hope the future of dance is steered by Revolutionaries like our founder, Nia. If it’s in the hands of people focused on constant social and artistic awareness like her the future is very bright.
