An average of 100 Americans are shot every day and 44% of American adults know someone who has been shot.The current federal background check law is not “universal” because it has loopholes for gun shows, non-licensed dealers, and does not address domestic and intimate partner violence or access to firearms for those on the terrorist watch list.
I am concerned about background checks in this country and urge Senator [your senator's name] to take bipartisan action. Thank you for your time.
