🗣Excited to share that Révolutionnaire Action Leaders and STEM Stars @Jaden and @Lethan will be speaking at Revolutionize Stem's STEMM IT UP Summer Workshop tomorrow! Read more about them below, check out their posts in Housing + Food Security,  and sign up to attend the workshop here

@Jaden is a junior nursing major, sociology minor attending Howard University and an Action Leader on Révolutionnaire’s Housing + Food Security Team. Since the age of 12, Jaden’s affinity towards the medical field has expanded and strengthened. Particularly, the medical disparities between minorities and non-minorities that present themselves in health care environments have been a strong influence on her pursuit of becoming a nurse practitioner. Jaden’s recent article, When America Catches A Cold, African Americans Catch Pneumonia, was recently published in Stanford School of Medicine’s Just Health Publication. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Jaden not only strengthened her love for the medical field but also watched and participated in campaigning and voluntary efforts that brought attention to the housing crisis and displacement of many New York natives due to gentrification and unstable rent prices. With New York having one of the highest poverty rates in the country, housing and food insecurity is a major and overt issue that can be seen in popular areas like Times Square and even less populated areas around the state. Through exposure, traveling, and learning experiences, Jaden has continued to join efforts that not only acknowledge social injustice issues but also bring about reform and progress on a national level.

@Lethan is a Junior biology major, chemistry minor from Houston, Texas, currently attending Howard University and an Action Leader on Révolutionnaire's Housing + Food Security Team. Lethan has always been passionate about community service, specifically with helping the homeless through multiple food drives and furthering the education of students in Africa through establishing two libraries at primary schools across the continent. Recognizing his blessings at a young age, Lethan was influenced to serve the community through his hometown church and organizations like Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. Living by his motto “Spread Love,” he believes that just one act of kindness can change someone’s day.  Following his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry, Lethan wants to obtain a combined MD-PhD and serve as a physician in under-resourced areas abroad.
